Home Remedies to Increase Hair Growth
By Victoria Ries
Hair is one of life's mysteries; either you have great hair, or you don't. Lucky are those people whose hair grows normally without any special encouragement. For those who don't find it so easy to grow their hair normally, inexpensive home remedies are for you.
Lavender Essential Oil
Massage a few drops of lavender oil into your scalp, using your fingertips. Or add 15 drops lavender essential oil to 1 cup warm water in a spray bottle; spray the mixture onto your scalp. Leave the oil or oil/water on your scalp for 15 minutes and then wash it off with warm, running water. Repeat the process 3 times a week for 3 months.
Lettuce & Spinach Juice
Juice a mixture of raw lettuce and spinach until you have a good glassful of green juice. Drink this concoction every night for one month to nourish and unclog hair follicles. Alfalfa, carrot and lettuce juice works equally well to increase hair growth.
Lemon Seeds & Black Pepper
Pulverize dry lemon seeds in a blender and add coarse black pepper. Press the pulse setting on your blender for a few seconds to incorporate the ingredients. Add enough water to make a paste, and apply it to your hair, massaging in a circular motion to increase hair growth.
Zinc & Copper
Hair growth may be inhibited because of a zinc deficiency in your diet. Taking a daily dietary supplement replaces the zinc that your body needs for healthy hair growth. Wearing a copper bracelet leaches much-needed copper into your body through the skin. Copper deficiency is said to cause premature graying and thinning hair.
B-Complex Vitamins
Supplement your diet with B-complex vitamins to increase the growth and strength of your hair. Eat foods rich in B vitamins, including eggs, liver and peas. Vegemite and other yeast extracts such as Marmite and Bovril are rich in B vitamins and may be eaten every day as a tasty way to get all the B vitamins you need for optimum hair health and increased hair growth.
